Nursing is a relatively new discipline at the University of Western Australia, although it is well established in many of the other Group of Eight universities in Australia.
Our nursing research complements the growing multidisciplinary nature of the UWA Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Health Sciences.

Two new postgraduate courses for existing registered nurses and midwives were introduced in 2008:
In July 2009 a new two-year Master of Nursing Science (entry-to-practice) course was introduced in conjunction with Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital. Graduates will be eligible to apply to the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia to enter practice as a registered nurse.
