The objective of this study was to determine if attitudes towards safety and safe boater behaviour among recreational boat owners had changed since a similar survey was conducted in 2003.
In addition, it provided information to monitor safety behaviours and information related to additional safety issues and behaviours for future boater surveys.
The telephone survey involved 500 recreational boaters throughout Western Australia with a response rate of 46.6 per cent.
