The group consists of the following core staff: 


The Busselton Health Study research group manages and maintains the Busselton Health Study database on behalf of the Busselton Population Medical Research Institute.   This database custodian role includes:

  • supporting current surveys through selection of people to be invited and obtaining contact information, 
  • development of tracking databases for each survey,
  • receiving and incorporating new data into the central database,
  • providing information to researchers on the information available,  
  • extracting data for approved projects, and
  • generally keeping the accumulated information secure and in good order.   

The group, independently and in collaboration with other Busselton Health Study researchers, uses the accumulated data to conduct research into:

  • epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases
  • epidemiology of respiratory diseases
  • mortality and hospital admission rates
