The Master of Nursing Science enables graduates to meet the competencies required by the Nurses and Midwives Board of Western Australia to practise as a registered nurse.

The course builds on the previous academic learning and life experiences of the graduate to prepare them for the dynamic challenges of nursing as a profession.

Course outline

The two-year course comprises 4.5 semesters of study, commencing 22 February 2010. It is made up of four semesters of study, plus two six-point clinical placements, conducted outside of the normal semester time-frame and including a minimum of 800 hours of clinical practice. Admission requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in any discipline.
  • A Senior First Aid Certificate completed within the previous 6 months.
  • Successful completion of a tertiary-level unit of study in human biology, or an equivalent area of study. We offer an online human biology unit during each academic year.
