The Consumer and Community Advisory Council was established in December 2006 to provide advice and consumer input into research at the School of Population Health.
Purpose
The Council was established to enhance the quality and relevance of research undertaken at the School of Population Health.
Aim
The aim of the Council is to develop partnerships between consumers, community members and researchers to work together to make decisions about research priorities, goals, methodologies, questions and the dissemination of results.
Terms of reference
The Council meets to provide or facilitate:
- Consumer and community perspectives on research undertaken at SPH
- Links between consumers, the community and researchers at SPH
- Advice and expertise on consumer and community issues and priorities for research
- Advocacy on behalf of consumers and the community
- The implementation of the policy and guidelines for consumer and community representatives involved in research at SPH
- Evaluation and reports on consumer and community participation at SPH
- Feedback on strategic planning and governance structures relating to consumer and community participation in research
