Training in consumer and community involvement

Our workshops aim to increase knowledge, confidence and abilities of researchers, consumers and community members to work together to implement consumer and community involvement in research.

A key service of the Consumer and Community Health Research Network is to provide training workshops on implementing consumer and community invlovement in research.

Training for your organisation

We offer bespoke training courses on implementing consumer and community participation in research and health services that can be tailored to your needs and delivered at your premises.

  • the research funding process
  • different types of research
  • contributing effectively to the research team

Training for researchers, students and funders and administrators

Our ‘Implementing Consumer and Community Involvement’ workshops cover the ‘how and why’ of implementing consumer and community involvement. Topics include:

  • foundations and principles
  • identifying the barriers and ways to address them
  • planning implementing and evaluation
  • tools to support participation

Where we’ve been

Since 2008 we have conducted a number of 1 and 2 day workshops across Australia including:

  • Western Australia
  • South Australia
  • Victoria
  • Australian Capital Territory
  • New South Wales
  • Queensland

Whilst our primary target is to provide training for researchers, consumers and community members at the School and Institute many national research organisations have requested our training workshops including:

  • School of Nursing Flinders University
  • Arthritis Victoria
  • Better Treatments 4 Kids, NSW
